Description

Summer of Hamilton may be over, but the spirit of Founding Father Alexander Hamilton lives on at the New-York Historical Society. A variety of Hamilton-related objects and documents are on display in a series of installations throughout the Museum and Library until the end of the year.

In the Museum gallery, see life-size bronze statues depicting Hamilton and Burr in the midst of their deadly duel, pistols drawn and aimed at one another; a portrait of Hamilton by John Trumbull that inspired the $10 bill; the monumental tall case clock presented by Hamilton in 1797 to the Bank of New York; and Hamilton’s desk, at which the prolific writer penned his correspondence, on loan from the Museum of the City of New York. On view through December 31, 2016.
